In Shadow of One Another

This series captures the delicate balance between proximity and distance, the ways in which our lives are shaped in relation to those beside us. Figures emerge entwined yet distinct, their forms layered in tones of light and shadow that reveal both intimacy and separation. In their closeness, there is comfort, but also the weight of difference that lingers between.

The compositions evoke the complexity of shared existence, where identities overlap, blur, and divide. Each figure holds its own silence while leaning into another’s presence, embodying the fragile negotiations of belonging. These works speak to the tension of connection, how one can be both sheltered and obscured in the same breath.

At its heart, In Shadow of One Another is a meditation on interdependence. It honors the subtle, often unspoken ways we carry each other, in care, in burden, in memory. The shadows that fall between do not erase connection but deepen it, reminding us that within darkness, too, there is closeness, and within separation, a shared light remains.

Vestiges of Self

A hand like dusk, a face like dawn,
a quiet war, a tether drawn.
Fingers cradle, soft yet tight,
holding silence, holding night.

Shadow whispers, beckons deep,
a presence neither lost nor free.
Which part lingers, which part fades–
who is captive, who remains?

Half remembered, half erased,
a touch that soothes, a touch that weights.
Self entwined in muted grace,
echoed traces, time misplaced.
