Collection 2023

Pressed Silence

This collection speaks through gesture alone. The face disappears, but the hands remain—grasping, shielding, cradling the pressure of what cannot be said. Through a palette of white gauze, blood red, ochre gold, and deep green-black, these figures enact a visual language of survival. They do not cry out. Instead, they hold themselves in stillness—a stillness heavy with memory, fear, and resilience.

Pressed Silence responds to a world where speech can cost a life, where showing your face is a risk, and where trauma is stored not just in the mind, but in the muscles. These images are both personal and political—portraits of those who must protect themselves not with armor, but with gesture.

In these works, the hand becomes testimony. It remembers what the mouth cannot say. It shields what the eyes cannot see. It connects the body to its history—through scar, through prayer, through the quiet insistence of presence.

This collection is not silent. It is silence under pressure—the kind that shakes from the inside, but never lets go.
