The Hollowing

This series confronts the aftermath of erasure. It moves beyond memory into something more spectral—where the face itself is undone, masked, or burned away. The figures appear in pairs, yet no longer mirror each other. One always seems to haunt the other. Their eyes are hollow, their mouths closed, their forms wrapped in veils the color of flame and ash.

The Hollowing is a meditation on the violence of disappearance. In a world marked by the dehumanization of bodies, forced anonymity, and the silencing of truth, these works stand as visual elegies. They mourn the lost, the veiled, the forgotten. And yet, in their haunting stillness, they also endure.

The layering of figures speaks to a fractured identity—not broken, but stripped down to what survives. In this stripping away, a strange clarity emerges. The absence becomes presence. The mask becomes a face. The shadow becomes testimony.

This collection does not offer comfort. It offers space—for absence, for witness, and for those who still remain unseen.
